Amr El-Helw is currently a PhD student in the School of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo, Canada. He is a member of the Database Research Group. He received his M.Sc. degree from the Department of Computer Science at Alexandria University, Egypt in 2004. He received his B.Sc. from the same department in 2001.
He enjoys reading about – and possibly contributing in – various computer- and technology-related topics, ranging from new technologies, to interesting websites, to useful software products or online services, to even just linking to interesting articles that he has come across. He has a special interest in free and open-source software and services, so don’t be surprised if he writes about these quite often.
